So as i type this blog "RIP BLACK FOLKS" is a current trending topic on twitter. At first glance one would think "wow who has the audacity to start a #TT as racist as that?" Someone wants to see black people die. But then i brushed it off cause honestly...who cares about that #TT! Im seeing people (mostly black folks) on twitter literally losing their freaking minds over this topic. Supposedly its a band called "Black Folks" that is splitting up. Whether that is true or not, i dont really know right now. But for Black people to be all in a uproar over this topic is one reason why prejudice and racism still exist in our lives today. We as black folks give ignorant people like that a rise...they accomplish what they wanted to accomplish by causing black people to get all angry over a twitter topic. That shit isn't real life...aint nobody killing us off. Im still in perfect health...your still in perfect health... so why put so much energy in something so minute. For one, the fact that people are freaking out about it is why the #TT is still trending at this moment. Until us black people as a whole can live and let go then we will forever be taunted and not seen as equal. I can almost Guarantee that is the #TT was "RIP White Folks" Black people would be laughing and going in on that topic cracking jokes and what not. That is the ultimate double standard. Next imma see on the news tonight Al Sharpton going at the founder of twitter for allowing that topic to be trending. We as a race need to not be so sensitive and recognize whats real and what isn't.
